Anthony Doerr is a fiction writer whose first collection of stories, The Shell Collector, was a 2002 Notable Book in the New York Times and in Publishers Weekly. His fiction has appeared in numerous publications, including the O. Henry Prize Stories, the Atlantic Monthly, Paris Review, and Zoetrope, and he is a regular contributor to the Boston Globe. He lives with his wife in Boise, Idaho, where he is at work on a novel.
